Rosemount Center Volunteer Opportunities
Classroom Aide
Responsibilities
- Help with classroom coverage
- Read, talk, play board games with children
- Assist with snacks and lunch
- Help children learn fine motor skills - snapping, tying, buttoning
- Sincere interest in working with young children and ability to be patient and kind
- Desire to learn about other cultures
TIME COMMITMENT
Classroom aides are asked to
make at least a two-hour
commitment, once per week for a
minimum of twelve weeks.
Mornings and late afternoons
are preferable. Rosemount is
open from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Consistency in the hour of day
is appreciated (i.e. 8:00-10:00).
Center closed on federal holidays
Tutor for Parents/Staff
Responsibilities
- Help a parent or staff member master a particular skill
- Especially need help from tutors willing to teach English as a Second Language and computer skills
TIME COMMITMENT
Agreed upon time with parent or
staff member, once per week, at
the Center, for a minimum of twelve weeks.

Event or Activity Assistant
Responsibilities
- Help staff an event OR provide exposure to a particular skill or expertise either through offering a short-term class or offering a one-day experience
- Examples of activities include:
- instructing parents in knitting, playing guitar or personal finances
- escorting classes to health screenings
- wrapping presents for holiday gift giveaway
TIME COMMITMENT
Arrive one hour before start of
activity for orientation. Activity dictates time frame.
Activity determines minimum
time commitment.
